Terms of Service

These Terms of Service set out the agreement between you (“the Client”) and Simon the Celebrant (“the Celebrant”) when booking ceremony services. Please read them carefully before confirming a booking.

1. Services Provided

  • The Celebrant will work with the Client to design and deliver a bespoke ceremony (wedding, vow renewal, naming, funeral, or other agreed event).

  • Services include consultations, script writing, and delivery of the ceremony on the agreed date.

  • Any additional services will be agreed in writing.

2. Bookings and Payments

  • A non-refundable booking fee of 25% deposit once the booking is confirmed with the rest payable once the ceremony is over. 

  • The balance must be paid no later than 5 days after the ceremony.

  • Payment methods will be agreed at the time of booking.

3. Cancellations and Changes

  • If the Client cancels, the booking fee is non-refundable.

  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the ceremony may result in additional charges.

  • If the Celebrant is unable to deliver the ceremony due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, all efforts will be made to arrange a replacement celebrant or issue a full refund.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • The Client is responsible for providing accurate information to create the ceremony.

  • The Client must ensure all necessary permissions (e.g. from venues) are obtained.

  • For weddings, the Client is responsible for completing any legal requirements (e.g. registering the marriage). The Celebrant’s role is non-legal and purely ceremonial.

5. Travel and Expenses

  • I don’t recharge my travel costs if the ceremony is within the M25 but do if it’s outside. 

    I’m happy to travel overseas but depending on the distance involved, may charge for my time travelling.  

    I also recharge my clients for my accommodation costs. 

6. Use of Content

  • With your permission, the Celebrant may share anonymised excerpts or photographs of ceremonies for promotional purposes.

  • No personal details will be shared without consent.

7. Liability

  • The Celebrant will deliver services with reasonable skill and care.

  • The Celebrant is not liable for circumstances beyond their control, such as venue issues, travel delays, or extreme weather.

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
